Greetings! Please join me for some diverse and interesting gatherings, starting soon:

Friday, March 7, 7:00 pm, Arcadia Books, Spring Green, WI (a free event): I’ll read from my forthcoming book about my work on conservation of one of the world's rarest animals, the Saola, a large mammal found only in Laos and Vietnam. I’ll read in conjunction with award-winning Hmong-American poet Mai Der Vang from California, who will read from her newest poetry collection, Primordial, about the Saola (one of Mai Der’s previous collections was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize).

Note, this is a free and in-person event, with no Zoom option. Please join us and help welcome Mai Der to Wisconsin!

March 8, 1-4 pm, Maple Syrup BasicsLearn to make (and taste!) maple syrup with me here at the farmhouse. This fun gathering is offered through Folklore Village, and for more information, and to register, please see here.

May 17-18: Also at the farmhouse and the land here - improve (or start!) your skills in reading wildlife tracks & sign, with expert tracker Matt Nelson (above) - and maybe find a morel or two along the way!  All skill levels welcome and encouraged, including none. Matt is a deeply knowledgable and profound teacher.

This gig, too, is offered through Folklore Village, and for more information please see here. Class is capped at 11 participants.

Hope to see you - and I’d be most grateful if you would share this post with others who might be interested - thank you.

Come on out, and let’s join in community.
